Also a part of the Hamilton Conservation Authority, Fifty Point is the second campground site offered to those seeking a nature getaway. It is an 80-hectare park that offers swimming, camping, and plenty of walking options.

Fifty Point is not an all-season camping ground but is open from April to Thanksgiving. It has 70 sites, each equipped with sewer, hydro, and water. All are located near the south shore of Lake Ontario. You’ll find it an upgrade from roughing it, as it has a comfort station that includes individual showers, washrooms, and laundry services.

Unfortunately, the sites seem to need more firepits for those looking for a good campfire. There is, instead, a community fire pit, which can be a disappointment for those looking for something more intimate.

But if you forget to bring your hotdogs, you can visit the restaurant above the marina. And if you have a boat, you’ll love the excellent access to its marina. Although the marina is currently full for docking, they can add those wanting this perk to a waiting list.
