Be warned: reading the following might inspire you to book a day of pampering at Allegra Spa.
Allegra Spa & Wellness Centre is run by owner and Milton resident Melanie Booth. The spa offers wellness treatments, including manicures, facials, micro-needling, and hydra facials.
Born and raised in Georgetown, Melanie has lived in Milton for 18 years. The spa opened in 2009, and Melanie became involved six years ago, initially running the spa as a side business. In 2019, she bought Allegra, becoming its second owner. Four years later, in December 2023, Melanie decided to pursue running the spa full-time.
“I left my full-time job in December. I really wanted to dig in and look at the details of what I’ve been doing for the last six years,” Melanie recalls.
Allegra Spa is known for its facials, and she hopes her clients can use their spa time as an escape.
“It’s not just, come get your nails done and go home. It’s come in and feel rejuvenated when you leave,” she explains. “It’s an experience. When you come into the spa we’ve got a waterfall, we’ve got the scents, we’ve got the soft music.”
Before each facial treatment, Allegra offers a free 15-minute skin consultation with an esthetician. The esthetician will cleanse your skin, examine it under a magnifying glass, discuss your skin concerns, and recommend a regimen of facials for the future.
Allegra has many facials to choose from, as well as a skin club membership that includes a discounted rate for facials.
“It’s where someone signs up for a subset of services,” Melanie explains. “Maybe it’s 8 to 12 facials per year. We give them a discount and then spread the payment of those facials out for 12 months.”
The membership can be used up however you like, all at once, or spread over the year for regular skincare maintenance. The facials can also be shared with a friend.
One of the new facials Allegra has introduced is the Rehydra Facial from the Vagheggi line. It is a deep, nutritional moisturizing treatment; a preferred treatment by those who suffer from dry skin, especially during the winter.
On the med-esthetic side of the spa, customers can find intensive skincare treatments that penetrate the skin more deeply, such as micro-needling and microdermabrasion.
In the wellness area, they have a registered massage therapist, some energy healers, including a Reiki Master, and an energy treatment called Belvaspata – known as Healing of the Heart – with the goal of healing from the inside out. She also shares part of her spa space with some hairdressers.
In the future, Melanie hopes to continue adding services such as a nutritionist, nurse practitioner, acupuncturist, osteopath and a men’s facial line.
“I’m just looking to make it a one-stop-shop,” Melanie says.
Looking ahead, Allegra Spa will also be at the Downtown Milton SummerFest in June.
