October is jam-packed full of fun events, from paint nights to workshops, date scavenger hunts, evenings of trivia, plays, hockey training, and don’t forget the celebration of autumn and Halloween. Soak up every ounce of October with the following local events that are not to be missed.

Milton Experience of the Month

Gala for Gold: On Sunday, October 12, come see the Team Canada Dance team perform before they go to Europe to represent our nation at the World Dance Championships.

Ongoing Events

  • Wednesday Night Trivia at St. Louis Bar & Grill in Milton: Join Host Neal Macfarlane for a fun-filled weekly trivia night, complete with a half-time game of Heads & Tails for a chance to win an additional prize. Call St. Louis to reserve your table!
  •  Public Speaking & Leadership Skills- Supporting Women Entrepreneurs: Come check out this new Toastmaster Club to help empower and support women to learn how to build their confidence, leadership presence, and overcome their fear of public speaking. This event takes place every Wednesday; the first one is FREE.
  • Men’s Sexual Health Group: A biweekly small group Zoom session offered to men who engage in consensual sexual behaviour that they feel is out of control. You’ll learn how to identify your feelings and develop skills to increase self-awareness.
  •  Date Night at The Note: Don’t miss out on this specially curated date night menu at the Eighth Note every Thursday evening. 
  • Pilates Reformer Flow: Gain muscle strength working with resistance and improve stability every Tuesday and Thursday.
  •  City LOVE Scavenger Hunt Date Night for Couples: Fall in love with Milton and each other on this self-guided city love scavenger hunt. All you need is your partner and a mobile device with an internet connection to activate your Digital Date Nite Box.  Multiple days available.
  • Milton Farmers’ Market: The favourite annual market takes over Main Street every Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, featuring over 40 farmers, vendors, florists, and artisans. Alongside the main market, explore Milton’s downtown businesses and attractions. Summer market ends October 11.
  • Tuesday Night Trivia at Shoeless Joe’s in Milton: Enjoy a fun-filled evening of brain-teasing questions and great company during this unique visual trivia game shown on all the TVs in the venue, featuring digital scoring.
  • Trivia Tuesday at Ned Devine’s: Bring your buds and put your brains together to make your best guesses for a chance at prizes at this fun weekly event. 
  •  Islamic Heritage Art Exhibit “Canvas of Muslim Artists”: Honour the heritage of Muslim artists on canvas and explore themes of identity, spirituality, and resilience.  Runs from October 7 to 26.
  •  Oh Look, Fabric! 4-Part Learn to Quilt WorkshopA 4-part workshop that helps teach you how to quilt. You’ll learn how to make a 54” x 64” throw-sized quilt, cut your blocks, read a pattern, and more.

  • Sing for a Cause – United Way of Halton & Hamilton: Show off your vocal prowess for a great cause! This live karaoke fundraiser helps raise funds for the United Way. No cover charge, but it’s $5 per song, and extra donations are encouraged and appreciated.
  • Mike the Mortgage Guy: Want to know more about mortgages and how you could get one? Come listen to Mike from Dominion Lending Centres discuss what 1st-time homebuyers and those new to Canada need at the Milton Community Resources Centre.

  • Family Paint Party: Let local artist Disha Sharma guide you for a night of creativity in a step-by-step painting. *Other dates with Disha include October 5, 11, 16, 19, 25, 26, and 30.
  • Milton Speed Dating (Age 35-45): Looking for the possibility of love? Come check out Milton’s speed dating social event and find your mutual match.

  • She Can Create!: An ACT Initiative (Artists and Children Together) alongside She Can! Hosts this FREE art-based program for girls (transgender, cisgender, and non-binary included) who fall in grades 6-8. This is an 8-week program.
  • 👩‍🎨 Paint Night at East Side Mario’s, Milton 🎨: Explore your creative painting side along with some cocktails and food.

  • Monthly Meeting: Celebrating our Heritage: Join speakers Nancy Cuttle and Patrick Gallagher as they discuss the Positive Impacts of Heritage Designation and Restoration and Preservation of Heritage Buildings relating to heritage home restorations.

  • The Comic Strippers: Improvisational comedians playing the role of fictitious male strippers for a night of laughs and good fun.
  • Salsa at Champs: Salsa dancing with DG Gio brings a night of high-energy and passionate salsa dancing. Join in the fun or come out for the great music and vibes.

  • October Fundraising Dinner: Join local Historian John McDonald for an evening learning about the struggles of the Milton railway with a full menu and time for socializing. Limited spaces and cash bar.
  • Family Paint Party: Paint the enchanting Moonlit Tree of Life with step-by-step guidance from an artist instructor at Keenan’s Irish Pub. Food and drinks not included.

  • Mommy & Me Halloween Costume Parade: Calling all mommies and little ones. Visit the Milton mall dressed up in your Halloween costume for a FREE parade and trick-or-treat at participating stores.
  • Oh Look, Fabric! Level 3: Learn to Sew Workshop (Adult): The next level for those who have taken Level 1 and 2 Learn to Sew Workshop from Oh Look, Fabric! Perfect for those who want to learn more about zipper projects.
  • Milton Comedy Show: If you need a good laugh, then come out for the Milton Comedy Show featuring DK Phan, Jeff Paul, Leny Corrado, and Patrick Haye.
  • Mudmen: Join the excitement and fun of Mudmen as they showcase their musical talents with bagpipes, drums, and more.

  •  Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses: Come for the production by The Milton Players Theatre Group of Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses, a love story by Michael and Susan Parker.

Halloweekend Party: It’s Halloween, and adults deserve to celebrate, too! Enjoy a night of Live Band Karaoke and sing along. Night carries over to November 1.
