Top 9 Downtown Milton Restaurants

Being a resident of the toprtwn of Milton comes with a sense of community. It also comes with the belief that where you choose to eat matters. It matters because anyone who lives in Milton knows the importance of eating local, supporting your community, and knowing that we’ve got the best food around.

As a resident of Milton, I have eaten at my fair share of main street restaurants. Still, I reached out to my local community to get the inside scoop. Trust me. They did not disappoint!

And while I personally don’t have a favourite pick, I did manage to come up with a great list of the top 9 downtown Milton restaurants that I believe any Milton resident would proudly support.

Locanda

If authentic Italian cuisine is what you are after, then Locanda is what you seek. A warm and inviting atmosphere with brick décor greets you as you enter the door. Their ingredients are fresh and authentic and will bring out the Italian in anyone.

Many locals who frequent Locanda say it’s all about the small touches they make. The service is always top-notch, the Chef will come out to say hello to guests, and you feel at home when you are there. Go for their famous Gnocchi in Short Ribs but stay for the Lemon Sorbet.

Casa Americo

This Italian bistro and restaurant combine the best of two world cuisines. It is a family-owned business that provides its visitors with great food at a great price. Casa Americo is upscale comfort with its bright décor and leatherbound chairs.

Some local favourites include the Calamari, described by one as the best she’s ever had, to the delicious chicken and veal parmesan. Another special home away from home, you’ll find the service is superb, the owners love to get to know their patrons, and the food is eye-catching as it is filling.

The Ivy Arms

201 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1N7

The Ivy Arms is the local pub you go to when you know you want to have a good time and great food. It’s a second home for regulars and yet offers familiarity to newcomers alike. The Ivy Arms are possibly most famous for their jumbo wings – the options truly feel endless, but they also serve up some mean veggie apps.

If you’re looking for a laid-back, Irish-style pub grub, then The Ivy Arms is the place to beat. From their stellar drink selection to their excellent service, you’ll love digging into one of their delicious burgers or sandwiches on their all-season patio. It’s an iconic watering hole for the local crowds.

Thai House Cuisine

Thai House Cuisine is my go-to when I want something spicy, savoury, and just plain yummy. Here, they have it all. From your familiar and comforting delicious Pad Thai to my new favourite Thai Curry Puffs, which are sweet, delectable appetizers.

It’s no wonder this jewel of a restaurant has received Diamond status nine years running – according to votes from the Milton Canadian Champion – as the best Thai cuisine around. Whether you choose to dine-in or order take-out, you’ll always enjoy a taste of authentic Thai cuisine in this downtown staple.

Pasqualino

Pasqualino’s is the perfect place for date night, yet they can easily accommodate a family gathering. Their wall of windows brightens any day visit yet also favourably lets you soak in the atmosphere of the downtown Milton nightlife. But no matter the time of day you visit, you’ll love their stunning décor.

Everything they make is from scratch and with seasonal ingredients. I suggest trying one of their wood-fired pizzas or their in-house fresh pasta; the latter comes with a gluten-free option. My biggest suggestion is to make sure to book your reservation as this is continually one of Milton’s top spots.

La Toscana

165 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1N7

Whether you choose to eat in their public dining room or enjoy a private room, you are sure to have a memorable experience. The elegant stonework that gives this fine establishment its unique feel, originates from the historic Thompson Hotel built in 1847, offering a side of history with your delicious entrée.

La Toscana offers its diners fresh, Italian food – with an emphasis on seafood – and an oyster and martini bar, which is a perfect option for those who would dine alone. Enjoy some fine wine from their extensive cellars along with your Pan-Roasted Atlantic Salmon with a Lemon and Orange Reduction.

The Eighth Note

Formally known as Pretty Rad, The Eighth Note has taken over with new ownership. Replacing the swanky style with its 70s musical era record covers plastered over the walls and wooden panelling blended with music-themed decorations behind the bar has created a warm and cozy style.

Serving Milton as a great place to reward your tastebuds and listen to some great music, you’re in for a treat, whether you go for a night out with friends or a weekend breakfast with family.

Try anything with their pulled pork; the servings are generous and delicious. And don’t miss out on enjoying one of their cocktails. They have so many to choose from, but luckily, they are fully stocked and ready to make whatever you’re craving.

Bistro On Main

Bistro On Main offers great prices for consistent and amazing nutritious delights in the downtown core, otherwise known as Main street. The perfect place for brunch, lunch, and everything in between. With friendly service and food that is made from scratch, Bistro On Main gives its diners a comforting café ambience.

I particularly love coming here because it offers a great selection for adults and kids alike. I know I’ll be satisfied with one of their delicious wraps, soups, or crêpes. My kids will be over the moon with their homemade kid’s sandwich or quesadilla. Come for the food, and keep coming back.

Marquee Steakhouse & Piano Lounge

Marquee Steakhouse and Piano Lounge, formally located on Steeles, just made the downtown Milton restaurants list as the Main Street core has recently welcomed this Milton landmark with open arms. You cannot go wrong with locally sourced ingredients that they elevate into spectacular dishes like their Grilled NY Striploin or their mouthwatering Crème Brûlée.

They are a family-owned steakhouse with knowledgeable and attentive staff. Dining at the Marquee is an experience and celebration for all your senses with live music, candlelit tables, and palate-pleasing entrées. I’m sure their alluring vibe will carry on when they officially move into their new location.
