You know that feeling when it comes over you. Your family asks you what you want for dinner, and without even hesitating, you hear yourself utter the words, fish and chips. But where should you go?

Whether you want to return to an old favourite or try a new restaurant, here are the three Milton fish and chip eateries.

Golden Fish and Chips

Offering less on the menu compared to the above selection, the fish and chips meal is the star selection and what keeps the people of Milton coming back for more. Golden Fish and Chips serve up a sizeable portion of fish.

If you have someone who doesn’t like fish in your family, particularly children, they also have chicken fingers as an option. Many also enjoy their halibut on a kaiser bun, and why not add a side of creamy coleslaw? Eat-in or takeout, you’ll leave full.

Milton Fish and Chips

17 Wilson Dr, Milton, ON L9T 3H7

Known for their crispy batter and reasonable prices, Milton Fish and Chips offer a similar menu as Golden Fish and Chips listed above. While fish and chips are their main item, you can also add on some creamy coleslaw and chicken fingers for those who prefer not to eat fish.

Many regulars say they return not just for the light and flaky fish but also for the friendly service. You can expect a clean atmosphere and experienced owners who know what they are doing behind the counter. It’s also worth checking out their lunch special.

Capt’n Fry’s Chip Wagon

51 Steeles Ave E, Milton, ON L9T 1X9

Capt’n Fry’s Chip Wagon is what you would expect – a truck that serves some tasty bites. The woman who works there is Acadian, so be sure to try her poutine if you want some squeaky Quebec cheese curds and homemade gravy on your fries.

In addition to fish and chips, you can also get hot dogs and footlongs, burgers, and peameal bacon and cheese. It’s also worth noting that the fries are fresh cut and not frozen, and the burgers are homemade. An insider tip: it’s cash-only, so swing by an ATM beforehand.
