Fantastic coffee shops in Milton are as synonymous with our town as Central Perk is with the tv show Friends. This makes finding a great café or coffee shop easy and hard. Easy, because there are so many beloved ones to try. And, hard because there are so many beloved ones to try!
Sometimes you go just for the coffee, sometimes you want to include a fantastic lunch, or sometimes you are going for the sweet, delectable treats they offer. So, to help you make your selection, I’ve done the grunt work for you. In this entry of Experience Milton, we’re listing our favourite coffee shops in Milton.
Mama Mila’s Cafe
9113 Derry Rd W, Milton, ON L9T 7Y9
A family-owned café, Mama Mila’s has been a Milton coffee shop favourite for a good decade. The décor is simple, but you aren’t coming for the décor. You’re coming for the scrumptious food! Mama Mila’s is where you want to be if you crave a delicious soup and sandwich. Perhaps even for their famous Philly Cheese Steak on artisan bread.
Owners Mila and Ron are as welcoming as is their food; they prepare everything fresh right before you. It is a hidden gem that may get passed by if you aren’t sure of its location. It’s tucked away in the back of the Thompson Square Shopping Plaza. Make sure you find it, as Mama Mila’s is well worth the visit.
Chudleigh’s Blossom Café
176 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1N8
Those who live in Milton, or the surrounding Halton area, have likely visited Chudleigh’s farm with the family and had a wholesome, entertaining, and delicious experience. But when the farm closes for the winter season, and yet you still find yourself craving their sweet treats, Chudleigh’s Blossom Café is there to fill the void.
Located in downtown Milton with its vibrant outdoor red décor and chic and clean inside style, this café is a quaint and relaxing place to indulge your senses. Choose to dine-in and eat one of their delectable, try a homemade treat, or select a take-home selection from their Ice Box. In any case, you will not be disappointed. Do not miss out on their Crumble Crunch Apple Blossom or their Orchard Hard Cider.
Coffee Culture
265 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1P1
Located in downtown Milton, Coffee Culture has a great location that offers delicious hand-crafted food, all at a reasonable price. It’s perfect for having a quick business breakfast, bringing the family in for a tasty lunch, or relaxing with one of their specialty beverages and a baked treat. Coffee Culture is truly a place welcome to anyone.
I find it a relaxing yet upbeat place to unwind. There are plenty of window seats, so you won’t lose out on the downtown Milton vibe no matter where you sit. My favourite drink is their London Fog. They use Numi Organic Aged Earl Grey tea, and it tastes divine!
An excellent spot for lunch, fill your belly with one of their combo lunches; they come with your choice of a sandwich, served with soup, salad or a cookie. And don’t miss out on their Asiago BLT paired with their Power-Up Smoothie to get your energy up and keep you going throughout the day.
Symposium Cafe
611 Holly Ave, Milton, ON L9T 0K4
This Milton coffee shop and restaurant is a blend of both Romanesque and Renaissance vibes that you feel when you walk in. Large mural paintings decorate the high walls! One of my favourite cafés to go to for breakfast with the family; you can’t go wrong with Symposium’s hashbrowns.
But while they serve enjoyable food all day long, showing up with some friends for a hot chocolate and a piece of cake is also a must-do. Be sure to make some magical memories enjoying their beautiful wraparound outdoor patio that can accommodate an impromptu birthday gathering anytime.
Barn Door Studio Café
158 Main St E #156, Milton, ON L9T 1N6
The perfect place to be when you want to eat some delicious food, drink some delicious Escarpment coffee, and do some shopping. Or maybe you want to get creative and take a workshop while you’re at it? Barn Door Studio Café truly has it all.
The vibe is chic and chill, all at the same time. The coffee is roasted right in Milton from the Milton iDrinkCoffee specialty coffee retailer and has received tremendously positive feedback. The combined smell of coffee, treats, and wood will wrap your senses in one giant hug of warmth.
But if you’re a tea person, like I am, you will love their organic teas coming from the Genuine Tea Company from Oakville, a stone’s throw from Milton. The Barn Door Studio is more than a café. It’s an experience.
Tim Hortons
15 locations
Visit one of the many Tim Hortons locations and always get what you expect. Great coffee, delectable treats, hearty sandwiches, and fast service. Whether you dine in or go through the drive-thru, you can always expect to get good food for good value.
Starbucks
7 locations
Friendly staff and that delicious smell that comes wafting your way as soon as you open the door, Starbucks locations are a staple in Milton and give you those posh treats you seek. Try their Sous Vide Egg Bites or their Vanilla Steamers. Along with the relaxed vibe, you can chill here for hours.
The Lunchbox Cafe
917 Nipissing Rd, Milton, ON L9T 5E3
The Lunchbox Café does more than serve you a delicious breakfast or lunch. By visiting this fantastic eatery, you support adults with disabilities to learn job skills. Celebrating a decade in Milton, the Lunchbox has done an excellent service in helping adults with special needs through a Community Living North Halton program.
Best described as the perfect comfort food, you will find an array of delectable treats and in-house-made soups, salads, and sandwiches prepared right before you. Their Lunchbox Salad is a must, filled with walnuts, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and delicious cranberry dressing.
Always served with a smile, the staff at the Lunchbox Café are easygoing and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
goFast Coffee
111 Main St N, Milton, ON L0P 1B0
It’s right there in the name. goFast Coffee is where you want to go when you need a caffeine fix fast! It’s the perfect place to stop when you visit one of the Halton Conservation parks, as it’s just a stone’s throw away from Mountsberg Park.
The owner is super friendly and happy to chat you up as you wait for your coffee. But it’s also perfect as a quick stop for the entire family on the go; hot chocolate and tea are also on the menu. Be sure to grab a muffin or a cookie while waiting for your masterpiece to be created.
The Escarpment Tea Room
104 Tremaine Rd, Milton, ON L9T 2W9
Not a coffee drinker, don’t worry, The Escarpment Tea Room has you covered. It’s quaint, eclectic, and covers everything you’d expect from an afternoon of tea; it’s the ultimate tea experience. And while it’s perfectly acceptable to go for a cup of tea and a small bite, I highly suggest making an afternoon of it and experiencing the full afternoon tea menu.
The tea menu includes a Veggie Tray accompanied by Fresh Dill Lime Dip, Assorted Finger Sandwiches, a Mini 3-Cheese Quiche, delectable Homemade Scones with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Ginger Jam, and of course, all the tea you could possibly want. A true haven for tea and finger food lovers alike.
I Heart Boba
245 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1P1
If bubble tea is your thing, then I Heart Boba should be next on your list to check out; if you haven’t already, that is. Boba or bubble tea is a traditional Taiwanese-style tea drink with fresh and delicious tapioca balls that sink to the bottom.
Their Milton shop has been revolutionized to include coffee, fresh juices, and smoothies. But the best part is you can customize your drink with an assortment of delicious flavoured jellies and more. The service is fast, and the selection is incredible.
Try the Passion Smoothie with Lychee, the Taro Cream Tea, or Vietnamese Coffee for some authentic flavour. Their motto is: we put our heart in it. Trust me – they really do!
The Sweet Spot
821 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 0J4
The Sweet Spot gets their name for all the sweet treats they offer, from Cotton Candy to their Giant Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich. Oh, and did I mention their candy wall with over 50 varieties? And don’t you dare miss out on their exclusively freshly brewed iced tea.
The Sweet Spot is in Elevate the Community, an activity centre. You can first enjoy a game on one of their courts and then relax with a sugar rush and some cool or hot drinks with friends and family. The Sweet Spot seriously brings out the kid in anyone. Who can resist Ice Cream in a Waffle Cone?
Country Style
Main Street Location
5 Main St E, Milton, ON L9T 1N2
Regional Road Location
8612 Regional Road 25 Shell Gas Station, Milton, ON L6J 2X7
Country Style falls within the realm of Tim Hortons. Coffee and donuts were the original food items served. Still, they expanded to include breakfast and lunch sandwiches over the years. What makes Country Style a staple in any community is its longevity. The brand has been going strong since 1963, serving great coffee, having quick service, and adapting to the customer’s needs.
Tria Café & Bakery
725 Bronte St. S, Milton, ON L9T 9K1
At Tria Café and Bakery, you’ll get freshly brewed coffee and quick pre-prepared sandwiches. Or you can stay longer and have a hot meal, such as their Butter Chicken. Located in the Milton Hospital, this coffee shop provides convenience with comforting food. It’s worth checking out if you want to fill your belly at a reasonable price.
