Milton is known for its many great restaurants, activities, and great people. But it also has some really great bakeries. And in my research to find the best bakeries in Milton, one thing stuck out most to me. Passion!
The bakers all bake because of their passion for sweet treats, sharing their gift with others, and passion for creating something unique. To ensure that you don’t miss out on their fantastic talent and delectable delights, here is my list of Milton’s top ten bakeries.
La Rose Italian Bakery
327 Bronte St. S, Milton, ON L9T 4A4
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, La Rose is a staple bakery in Milton. What makes this bakery so great is that they bake every day, and everything is made from scratch. Family-owned and operated, they go beyond baked treats and offer lunch, ready-to-go meals, and catering.
With countless awards, they truly earn the cake for their delectable treats. They even have an array of delicious vegan and gluten-free options. You can never go wrong with what they offer, but be sure to try their Zeppoles, a traditional Italian pastry. Their Zeppoles are only around once a year and only until Easter.
Many have gone in for their custom cakes. Still, they leave with more, including fresh and crunchy baked bread, some salami, and whatever other irresistible smells waft your way. Their motto has always been to “give our customers fresh and excellent food every single day,” and they truly do.

Lil’ Bake Shoppe
542 Savoline Blvd, Milton, ON L9T 7X3
The Lil’ Bake Shoppe wants to handle all the baking for your special events, so you don’t have to. They offer a variety of sweet creations, from cupcakes to cakesicles, and they decorate each treat to suit your needs and preferences.
They are rated in the top three Best Cakes in Milton and were winners of the Artist of the World’s Superb Cakes by Amazing Cake Ideas in 2021. With no animal by-products, they pride themselves on being a small bakery with a big taste. Be sure to try their pretzel rods. If you aren’t sure whether you’re in the mood for sweet or salty, the pretzel rods are a winning combination.

Bread N’ Batter
875 Main St E UNIT 5, Milton, ON L9T 3Z3
In the heart of Milton, this family-run Filipino bakery offers anything and everything you can make from bread or batter. You’re in for a real treat with their selection of tasty cupcakes, delicious empanadas, and more.
They use unique ingredients to create superb culturally unique combinations, such as their Ube Mamon, made from ube, a purple yam known for its sweet, nutty flavour and eye-catching deep purple colour. You could almost say purple is their signature colour.
Bread N’ Batter appeared on the Food Network’s Project Bakeover, where the show gave their formerly plain-looking bakery a beautiful makeover. The makeover incorporates that purple colour from the ube with which they bake so much. They also have a unique setup to discuss the perfect cake you want to create.
Lastly, to top it off, they further updated their inventory to serve tea and coffee, along with some delicious biscuits and ruffled Danishes. Be sure to find them baking up a storm throughout the week and check them out as you pick up your morning coffee on your way to work.

Since we run this business as a family, we all have different favourites. My personal favourite thing I bake are the cakes and cupcakes themselves! Cake batter is oftentimes overlooked as something easy, but REAL CAKE baked from scratch is so versatile and yet so intricate! There are different kinds from chiffons, sponges, rich cakes, butter cakes, bundt cakes, fruit cakes, etc, and so many methods, yet once you perfect the baking, the flavours can take you everywhere!

The Macaron Co.
The Macaron Co was created in 2018 by Angela, a dedicated wife and mother of two boys. She wanted to take her passion for baking to the next level. Their scrumptious signature macarons are made fresh on-site, and their chocolate-dipped marshmallows on a stick are delicious.
If you were wondering, she also does some custom creations of delicious cakes to help you celebrate any occasion. So, if you’re in the area, be sure to pick up one of her delectable macarons today.

Cobs Bread Bakery
608 Santa Maria Blvd Building B, Unit 2, Milton, ON L9T 9L7
If freshly baked bread is your thing, then Cobs is worth checking out. Cobs have a fabulous array of baked treats, from delicious scones to fantastic cinnamon bread, perfect for making French toast on any weekend morning. Oh, and don’t miss out on their cheese, herb, and garlic pull-apart bread. Yum!
Cake World
223 Rowe Terrace, Milton, ON L9T 8E8
Cake World specializes in, you guessed it, cakes. If you need a cake for a birthday, they have a variety of themes from which you can choose:

On A Roll Bakery
Kanwal started On A Roll Bakery as a passion project during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. While she is mainly known for her ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls, she has broadened to include other sweet and decadent specialty rolls. Her biscoff rolls, which she plans to add as part of her regular menu, are particularly trendy.
A local Milton resident, Kanwal has lived here for 12 years and has always loved to bake for her loved ones. She has also always loved cinnamon rolls but would face constant disappointment trying to find a local place to get one.
Because of this, she decided to throw caution to the wind and teach herself, perfecting her cinnamon roll recipe over the years. In June 2020, she officially opened up her business. She expanded to include monthly featured flavours like her strawberry cheesecake roll or red velvet rolls.
Kanwal is the sole artist behind everything; she does the baking, packaging, marketing, and even takes those delicious photos we drool over on Instagram. She relies heavily on word-of-mouth and referrals from all her happy customers. Kanwal considers herself lucky to have received such local support, and we consider ourselves lucky to have her.
M5 Bakes
Farah and her family moved to Milton in 2014. She opened M5 Bakes a few years later because of her passion for baking and wanting to be a stay-at-home mom. She is self-taught, and everything she bakes is made with love.
Offering up sweet and savoury treats, M5 Bakes is a certified home-based bakery. Everything she creates is fresh and made-to-order, and she can even cater to your vegetarian or Halal needs. She can provide the perfect cake, cupcake, or specialty treats for any event you need.
She is especially known for her treat boxes, cupcake decorating kits and goody bags for any special occasion you are hosting. And her chocolate shoe is a must-see! She is undoubtedly a favourite in the Milton area with her contagiously positive attitude.
Hillary’s Cupcakes and Desserts
Kennedy Cir, Milton, ON L9T 5S4
Hillary’s Cupcakes are a staple at any Milton Farmer’s Market. They’re a treat that my family and I look forward to when we stroll through the market. Hillary’s delicious cupcakes are her signature but don’t skip out on the crumbles, empires, cracker bark, carrot cake, and more.
She is a strong supporter of all things local and takes pre-orders for her baked goods. Hillary is a landmark in Milton as much as Mill Pond is, and we consider ourselves lucky to have her and her business.
Baking With Iz
Izzy has loved baking since she was young, whipping up treats with her mom and Nonna. Izzy got her first professional baking experience when she was 15 in a local grocery store. While her dream is to have her own storefront bakery one day, she is currently focused on school and baking on the side. Izzy is a one-woman show, with occasional help from her sister. Everything is made fresh to order in her basement kitchen.
She relies on Instagram and Facebook support and finds therapy in icing cakes for her customers. Her most popular item is cakes, particularly her Valentine heart-shaped cake, since her Instagram pics have really caught on, and she finds her work deeply fulfilling. I see great things for Iz and count Milton lucky to have her among the rest of our amazing bakers.
