Discover Kala: Colours of South Asia Art Exhibit with SAMM

Welcome to the vibrant world of Kala: Colours of South Asia Art Exhibit, proudly brought to you by Neev, to showcase the mesmerizing beauty of South Asian artistry.

Theme 2026: Kshan (क्षण | A Moment in Time)

This year, Kala invites artists to explore the theme Kshan, meaning “a fleeting moment, yet profound”.

Kshan represents those moments—brief, transformative, and unforgettable—that shape lives, perspectives, and communities.

Artists are encouraged to interpret a single moment in time through their work:

  • A personal turning point or life-altering experience
  • A collective historical moment from your culture or country of origin
  • A memory or story passed down through generations
  • Moments of joy, resilience, migration, awakening, loss, or resistance

As SAMM celebrates 10 years of building community, Kshan becomes a tribute to the moments—both monumental and subtle—that have brought us here.

What is Kala?

Kala (pronounced: Keh-la), meaning “Arts” in Hindi.
The three-week exhibit celebrates South Asian culture, creativity, and artistic expression, providing a platform for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting.

Kala also creates opportunities for artists and residents to connect through shared cultural experiences, storytelling, and creative dialogue.
